Description

Sculptor Thomas Banks, c1802. Monument to Richard Rundle Burges, who died 11th October 1797. Free-standing marble statu , shows two figures, one male, one winged, standing on top of a oval column, exchanging a sword over a canon. There is a coil of rope on the floor behind the male figure, and armour behind the figure with wings. Around the side of the column is a frieze which surrounds the inscription panel.
