The caption on the reverse of the photograph reads: “How lint is made. Lint, both plain and boric, is made from a cotton material, the process for both varieties being the same, except that the latter is impregnated with boric acid in solution and is tinted a pale pink colour to make it easily recognisable. Photo shows:- Wrapping up cut lint in packages ready for despatch.”
