The caption on the reverse of the photograph reads: “Presentation to retiring sister tutor. Picture shows Miss M.Spooner, Sister Tutor for over 20 years at St. Olave’s Hospital, Bermondsey, among some of the students she has trained for the nursing profession. She is holding a cheque and album of contributors’ names presented to her on her retirement.”
