Description

The date and time taken (5.30am!) is written on the negative. The Duke of Edinburgh was rebuilt in 1895, so this photograph may have been taken to record the building prior to demolition. The pub, within its new premises, traded until the 1970s. This photograph appears in 'William Fields's Photographs of Putney', compiled by Dorian Gerhold and Michael Bull for the Wandsworth Historical Society.
