Description

Edgbaston Reservoir, originally called Rotton Park Reservoir, was formed in the 1820s through the enlargement of an existing pool known as Roach Pool. The Midland Sailing Club was founded in June 1894. Originally it had three branches (Edgbaston, Norton, and Barnt Green), although only the Edgbaston branch continued sailing after the First World War. This photograph was published on page 4 of 'Played in Birmingham' by Steve Beauchampe and Simon Inglis.
