Hall Green Greyhound Stadium was opened in 1927 despite opposition from local residents. The stadium later also included a speedway track (closed 1937) and football pitch (1951-1965). Investment and development during the late 20th century saw Hall Green win the Greyhound Racing Association Racecourse of the Year award in 2002. The stadium closed in 2017 and was demolished in 2018; the site was subsequently redeveloped as housing. This photograph was published on page 75 of 'Played in Birmingham' by Steve Beauchampe and Simon Inglis.
