Description

The buildings seen here include the five storey brewery tower. They were formerly occupied by the Abbey Brewery, established in 1879. The brewery subsequently became amalgamated with other small breweries in the town and by the 1920s it had become the premises of the Tewkesbury Garage. The site was redeveloped as a supermarket in the 1970s. The buildings seen to the right of Smith's Lane are part of an area cleared as unfit housing in the 1960s.
