Description

Graham Sutherland (1903-1980) designed the tapestry known as Christ in Glory in the Tetramorph and it was made in France by Pinton Frères at Felletin. The tapestry was unveiled in March 1962 but the tapestry workers shown in the photograph appear to have visited on the same day as Thanksgiving, the first service after the completion of the cathedral.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
