In addition to images of the castle and priory and the coastguard station, house, gun emplacements and magazines on the site; there are views from the site across Short Sands, of the River Tyne entrance (sometimes known as Tynemouth harbour), and of the town of Tynemouth. The job originally contained 117 photographs including images of Collingwood Monument (DP022767 - 71 and DP022866, now 2K/13572), the north pier (DP022846, DP022869 and DP022877, now 2K/13573) and the clock tower (DP022779 and DP022876, now 2K/13574).
