Plans of Oakwood Hospital copied at the Kent County Record Office.

The 'Kent County Lunatic Asylum' opened in 1833. It was also known as 'Barming Heath Asylum', 'Kent County Mental Hospital', and 'Barming Mental Hospital', before it was renamed 'Oakwood Hospital' in 1947. The hospital closed in 1994.
