Description

Twenty-three sheets of plans and elevations of the walls and foundations of the bath house, surveyed and drawn in 1983 by an unstated organisation. Thirteen sheets show what appear to be earlier drawings in pencil, with a further ten sheets of finished drawings in ink.

In May 1983 a detailed survey was undertaken of the Roman bath-house known as Walls Castle at Ravenglass, Cumbria. The work was carried out by the Cumbria and Lancashire Archaeological Unit of the University of Lancaster, on behalf of the Department of the Environment, in advance of the consolidation of the monument, which is now in guardianship.
