Description
The series contains 821 ring binders and 'Twinlock' binders of black and white photographic prints glued to pages. The images show locations in England, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
These albums contain photographs made from negatives taken by Aerofilms between about 1919 and 2006 and were maintained by the company as a geographical index into the negative collection for the purpose of processing customer enquiries. The NMR continues to use the albums for this purpose. Most prints in the album have a location, date and negative number recorded beside them.
The albums contain oblique air photographs and ground photographs and the formats are varied. Scattered throughout the albums are vertical prints, photocopies of vertical prints and oblique photographs taken with vertical cameras.
