Series: Aerofilms print albums - photographs of themed subjects
- Date:
- 1919 - 2006
- Reference:
- AFL03/08
- Type:
- Series containing Photographic material
The series contains 75 ring binders and 'Twinlock' binders of black and white and colour photographic prints glued to pages. Each binder has a subject theme. The themes include shipping, aircraft, weather, football grounds, racecourses, architecture, archaeology, industry and public utilities, and landscape features. A handlist is available.
These albums contain photographs made from negatives taken by Aerofilms between about 1919 and 2006 and were maintained by the company as a subject index into the negative collection for the purpose of processing customer inquiries. The NMR continues to use the albums for this purpose. Most prints in the album have a location, date and negative number recorded beside them.
The formats are varied but are in the main 5"x5" oblique air photographs. There are occasionally vertical images, black and white photocopies and 1.5"x1.5" colour thumbnail photographs.
This is part of the Collection: AFL03 Aerofilms collection
