The series contains research notes, correspondence and other papers relating to the writing of "The Buildings of England: South West Lancashire and Liverpool" published by Yale University Press. Boxes 1 to 11 contain gazetteer notes arranged alphabetically by place and box 12 contains Edward Hubbard's notes for the suburbs of Liverpool.
