Scans from the albumen prints have been digitally re-processed to restore the images to something approximating their original appearance. Features and detail now almost completely obliterated in the faded originals are now clearly visible.
The order in which these scans have been catalogued differs from the original typescript list of captions to better reflect a logical tour of the building and its exhibits. It begins with a series of five exterior views, mainly of the Garden Front and fountains, leading to the interior of the Nave and working round, more or less clockwise, from the historically earliest to latest courts. The captions also differ from the original list to incorporate pieces of historical detail and context discovered whilst researching the collection and images.
