A series of miniature format film negatives showing exterior views of historic buildings in the counties of Kent, Surrey, Oxfordshire, East Sussex, Dorset and Somerset. Additionally, buildings from Cambridge and the City of Westminster in London are also featured. Some images remain unidentified.
The photographs were taken between August 1928 and December 1938, and are of unknown provenance.
Building types include Wealden houses, thatched cottages, bridges, medieval churches, barns, oast houses, watermills, a gatehouse and a village clubhouse. There are also a small group of around ten images which showing fishing boats on the mud at Hastings at low tide.
Eight of negatives are stuck together and were not digitized. Following a conservation assessment these have now been destroyed as it was impossible to separate the images.
