A series of ninety (90) digital colour photographs showing bowling greens, pavilions, and associated sites and structures in England.
All of the photographs were taken by Simon Inglis. Thirty-eight (38) were published in 'Bowled Over: The bowling greens of Britain' by Hugh Hornby (2015), and one photograph was published in 'Played in London' (Simon Inglis, 2014).
Well-represented in the series are sites in Sussex (15 photographs of Hastings, Lewes and Worthing), Birmingham (8 photographs of the Black Horse Public House, Northfield), and Shropshire (7). There are 36 photographs showing sites in London.
In addition to bowling greens and pavilions, there are several photographs of indoor bowling rinks, clubhouses and bar rooms. There are also photographs of the English Bowling Association's 2005 Men's Championship held at Beach House Park, Worthing, the 2011 Knights Competition at Southampton Old Bowling Green, the Waterloo Handicap Finals Day at Blackpool, and the 2015 Club Finals of Lewes Bowling Green Society.
