A series of 795 items, predominantly photographic prints, showing various locations in Oxfordshire including Dorchester, the gardens of Blenheim Palace, Hanwell Castle, Wroxton Abbey, Chastleton House, Cote House, Sutton Courtenay Mill, a variety of sites in Abingdon and large number of parish churches from across the county.
A large proportion of the series is focused on Oxford. Some of the sites depicted include the Bodleian Library and Divinity School; Christ Church Cathedral; Oxford Castle; the Sheldonian Theatre; the Taylorian Institute; St Mary the Virgin’s Church on the High Street; Iffley Mill and the Radcliffe Camera. The colleges of Oxford University also feature heavily with Exeter College; Corpus Christi College; University College; Oriel College; New College; Keble College; Merton College; St John’s College; Magdalen College; Brasenose College; Christ Church College; Wadham College and Hertford College all represented.
The formats include albumen prints, gelatine prints, carbon prints, platinum prints, photographic postcards and one engraving.
