Description

Between 1989-1991 at the suggestion of English Heritage, RCHME carried out field recording and documentary research on places of Christian worship in the London Borough of Islington. The buildings recorded included chapels, churches, meeting-houses and mission halls built for Protestant Nonconformist churches, including non-denominational bodies, and for the Roman Catholic Church (excluding pre-Reformation churches).

The survey was followed up by the book "Islington Chapels" published in 1991.
