Description

The collection has c.5844 black and white film and glass negatives which date from 1941-1972. Around 1700 images have been catalogued between the years 1941-1942, with c.1637 prints available on England's Places. They focus on architecture around England during the Second World War, looking specifically at areas in the north of England which were at-risk of bombing during air raids. The collection documents buildings lost and damaged during air raids and architecture of local and national interest, such as stately homes and parish churches.
