This desk-based survey using 1st and 2nd edition OS maps was carried out by the Newcastle City Archaeology Unit for RCHME between 1993 and 1994. The aim was to produce a basic record of the industrial archaeology of the area.

Contents : 18 distribution maps, report, secondary sources list, file of backup material, correspondence, project proposals, miscellaneous administrative material, 13 prints.
