The Hertfordshire mapping project was one of four joint RCHME and English Heritage crop-mark identification projects, undertaken by the RCHME Air Photography Unit, between 1990 and 1992, forming a pilot study for RCHME's National Mapping Programme. It was partly funded by English Heritage as part of the Monuments Protection Programme.
