The series consists of 60 slides showing mews and mews-style housing. The vast majority of the slides show buildings in London; 4 slides show Edinburgh, 1 slide shows mews in Birmingham, and 4 show Newhall, Essex. The series features street views, elevations and terraces. There are also several slides showing entrance archways. Many of the mews have been converted or modernised.
Although many of the buildings are typical 19th century mews, an interesting example is shown in the Newhall estate, Harlow, Essex: contemporary 21st century mews-style houses constructed using traditional and sustainable materials.
This is part of the Sub Series: EFC01/01/05 Domestic Building Types; within the Series: EFC01/01 Series of 35mm slides; within the Collection: EFC01 Edifice Collection
