Description

Fifty-five illustrations depicting the landscape, features and artefacts of Grime's Graves flint mine in Norfolk, and the activities taking place there, throughout its known history from the Mesolithic period through the the modern day.

The illustrations were created by various illustrators between circa 1960 and 2010, and appear to have been mainly commissioned for reproduction in the series of guidebooks for the site created by the Department of the Environment and English Heritage.

There are also six black and white and two colour preliminary sketches and some additional backup material, created by Peter Dunn, and two colour sketches created by Judith Dobie. These have not been catalogued at item level.
