Description

Photograph album labelled, 'Aerodromes: Wattisham, Gaydon, Coltishall and Scampton' containing 68 black and white prints showing the construction of runways at Wattisham (1950), RAF Gaydon (circa 1952 - 1953), Coltishall (1956-1957) and Scampton (1956). Included are images showing various machinery such as the weigh batching machine, Koehring train and Blaw Knox spreader, and details of runway construction including drainage, joints and mesh fabric layer. Also included are two exterior views of temporary staff accommodation at Gaydon (circa 1953).
