Description

Photograph album labelled 'No. 2' , containing 61 black and white prints showing construction of Sections 1 and 1A of the Bank of England by the Holloway Brothers. Included are images showing Taylor's and Soane's original work, excavation for wells, wooden shuttering to Soane halls - including shuttering for domes and barrel vaults - and installation of heating coil to barrel vault.

Archival History

Laing Construction took over the London firm of Holloways in 1964. It is presumed that the photograph album was acquired at this point.
