Description

597drawings of Marble Hill House and Park dating from the mid-eighteenth century to 2004, and including tracings of deed plans from 1752 to 1901, plans of the mansion from 1901, drawings of new offices, a bothy and tenements in the stable block from 1905 and plans of the mansion from 1926.

From the 1930s and 1940s there are drawings of new ladies toilets, proposed new dressing rooms and lavatories, a proposed new shelter, and the salon ceiling.

In the 1950s a survey of the mansion was produced, as well as drawings showing proposed living accommodation in the mansion, improvements to White Lodge, proposed additional changing rooms, lavatories, new wings for the mansion and a new lodge, services to the stable tenements, salon and staircase hall elevations, details of salon fittings and floor plans of the mansion.

From the 1960s there are drawings showing the floor of the new lodge, plans and elevations of the mansion, new changing rooms and toilets, the White Lodge porch, fireplaces and surrounds, windows for the salon and changing room, fireplaces and grilles, picture frame mouldings, storage racks for paintings, and a new garden seat. There are publication drawings of the villa, and sheets relating to the conversion of the stable block to a tea room and toilets, restoration of the mansion, conversion of fireplaces, demolition of the change room in the mansion, a proposed roof finial for the stables tower and temporary toilets and drainage for the changing room.

The 1970s produced surveys of fireplaces and second-floor windows, designs for fireplace surrounds, drawings relating to restoration work to the second-floor of the villa, a proposed shelter, changing rooms, the One O'clock Club, railings for the new lodge and resurfacing of the tennis courts, the car park and the access road.

From the 1980s onward, numerous plans and elevations were produced, along with drawings relating to the exhibition space in the villa, re-panelling of the gallery, restoration of the back stair, icehouse, grotto and second-floor rooms, repairs to the roof of the changing room, renewal of boundary fences, details of villa windows, heating and water to flat two in the stable block, a new female attendants cloakroom, second-floor chimneypieces, a proposed restaurant and shop in the service wing, railings and a new door for White Lodge, designs for a temporary concert stage, and a proposed path to the icehouse. There are also planting plans for the 'D.E.L.' works, and tree management plans.
