The Nighthawking Survey
In November 2006 Oxford Archaeology was commissioned by English Heritage to carry out a survey looking into the extent of illegal searching and removal of antiquities from archaeological sites. The Nighthawking Survey involved consultation with over 400 heritage related agencies and interested individuals throughout the UK and Northern Ireland, and the Crown Dependencies of the Isle of Man, Jersey, and Guernsey.
