Railway Hotel including sign in front and former off-sales building to west, Station Road, Edgware - Barnet

The Railway Hotel dates from 1931 and was designed by AE Sewell for the brewers, Truman Hanbury Buxton. It is a large three-storey half-timbered roadhouse, no longer in use as a public house and damaged by a fire in 2016. The listing includes the former off-sales building and the gibbet sign on the frontage. An approved scheme for hotel use has not been implemented. The Local Authority has taken enforcement action and works to secure the building and make it wind and weather-tight have been carried out.
