Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Howard Way, Harlow - Harlow

Important church post Vatican II designed by Gerard Goalen, one of the most important Architects of the Roman Catholic Modernist tradition, Goalen designed everything including the fixtures and fittings. Spire structure is rotting; temporary repairs carried out in 2018. Metal roofs are pinholed and admit water, starting to cause deterioration of the Stramit structural roofing slabs below. Rainwater gutters and downpipes are concealed from view, in poor condition and very difficult to maintain. Parish considering next steps.
