Repository Woods SE7 - Greenwich
Man-made training landscape established in the early C19 for pupils of the Royal Military Repository at Woolwich to practice and display artillery exercises on purpose-built earthworks and ponds. With formal planting and paths, it also offered publicly accessible pleasure grounds and military showcase, and the setting for the adjacent Rotunda. Military use continues and an angling club uses the main pond. Active management of the site has lapsed and key structures and features are being lost to woodland succession. There is no Conservation Management Plan and the site's future is uncertain.
