Chestnuts House, 398, Hoe Street E17 - Waltham Forest

Substantial detached house of circa 1745-7 in stock red brick with red dressings. Elaborate stucco interiors survive along with original panelling and cornices. Emergency repairs to the roofs and rainwater goods addressed the worst of the water ingress with further investment through the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme. The Local Authority is developing plans for the buildings repair and re-use through the Levelling Up Fund. Applications have been submitted for repairs and to get the building to a lettable standard. Expressions of interest are being sought from potential occupiers.
