Crown Court House, Wood Street - Wakefield

Built in 1810 in the neo-Greek style with extensions of 1849 to 1850. Two storeys, sandstone ashlar with banded rustication to all walls. Four columned Doric portico and one-storey side wings. Repairs to the shell of the building are complete but the interior remains in poor repair. As part of a wider regeneration of the area, it is proposed to use the building as a cultural hub, with a mix of leisure, food and drink, workspace and community uses.
