This whole return block is No. 7 St Augustine's Road and is not separately
listed. There is no such composition at right return of main terrace
elevation. The terrace was part of the redevelopment of a cavalry barracks
after 1820 by James Townley, the area becoming Spencer Square, of which this
terrace forms the western side. Vincent van Gogh lived and taught French at
a private school at No. 6, April-June 1876, and a blue plaque on the house
records this. (See Busson, Ramsgate, 109) Listing NGR: TR3786064458
