CHIRTON CONOCK SU 05 NE 3/50 The Grove with attached barn II House. c.1830. Flemish brickwork with raised limestone quoins and slated roof. Two storeys, 3 bays in 2 parallel ranges, and a one- bay 2-storey extension in colourwashed brick on left of rear range, rendered to front elevation. Central 6-panelled door with fanlight in arched recess, all within Tuscan portico with pediment. Margin glazed sashes, with matching but later French window on right, and 12-paned sash with concealed boxes on left. Openings have gauged brick lintels with keyblocks, and first floor windows have ornamental blind boxes. Paired modillion eaves and gable stacks. Rear elevation severely altered in C20. Rear wing on left, 3 bays, 2 storeys, with attached 2-bay barn, weatherboarded with corrugated iron roof.
