THE BOURNE 1. 5204 (North West Side) Nos 27 to 31 (odd) (formerly listed an Nos 27, 28 arid 29 Bourne Street).
TQ 8209 NE 8/148 19.1.51 II 2. Late C15 timber-framed building. 2 storeys and attics. 4 windows wide. No 29 (centre) has been refaced in the C18, stuccoed with a parapet, sash windows with glazing bars. No 27 to left had C18 stuccoed front which has been removed exposing again the timber-framing the ground floor has been underbuilt and stuccoed, modern casements. No 31, to right, still has its 1st floor overhanging on the protuding end of the floor joist and curved brackets, lst floor studded and modern canted oriel with cornice, gable with renewed scalloped bargeboards, finial and pendant, ground floor largely rebuilt in modern timber framing with modern 4-light window, probably once a shop window but now not used as such. All modern casements with leaded panes. The letters, "HCIS" now obliterated below the lst floor window. Passage on ground floor between Nos 29 and 31 in whicn the framing of the north wall of No 29 is visible. Back plastered.
The above entry shall be amended to read 1. THE BOURNE 5204 (North [Test Side) Nos 27 to 31 (Odd) (formerly listed as Nos 27, 28 and 29 TO 8209 NE 8/148 19.1.51 Bourne Street) II II* (NO 31) 2. Mid/late C15 timber-framed house with, at No 31, solar and first floor hall above. 2 storeys and attics. 4 windows wide. No 29 (centre) has neen refaced in the C18, stuccoed with a parapet, sash windows with glazing bars. No 27 to left had C18 stuccoed front which has been removed exposing again the timber-framing, the ground floor has been underbuilt and stuccoed, modern casements. No 31, to right, still has its 1st floor overhanging on the protruding end of the floor joists and curved brackets, 1st floor studded and modern canted oriel with cornice, gable with renewed scalloped bargeboards, finial and pendant, ground floor largely rebuilt in modern timber framing with modern 4-light window probably once a shop windows but now not used as such. All modern casements with leaded panes. The letters "HCIS" now obliterated below the 1st floor window. The first floor hall of No 31 has a crown-post roof and some later moulded plaster walls. Passage on ground floor between Nos 29 and 31 in which the framing of the north wall of No 29 is visible. Back plastered.
