Stable block. Early C19. Ashlar, render and red brick. Slate
roofs, hipped to the north and west. With single brick ridge
stacks to the south and north and 2 gable stacks to the cottage.
Quadrangle plan. Single storey with a 1 1/2 storey cottage to
the east. Set on an ashlar plinth. West side of 8 bays with 6
large arched carriage doorways, each with double, panelled,
wooden door. Flanked by single dorways with panelled doors and
traceried overlights. The left doorway is blocked. All have
rusticated surrounds and arches, with a keystone in the arch. In
the centre is a clock with wooden case. The south, rendered,
side of 7 bays has from right to left a single blocked doorway
with rusticated ashlar splayed lintel, a single segmental glazing
bar casement with ashlar surround with sill on the same level as
the door lintel, a similar single blocked doorway and lintel, a
similar single casement and surround, a single doorway with
panelled door, partially glazed, and similar lintel, a similar
single casement and surround and a single blocked doorway
replaced by a C20 casement with similar lintel. The east,
rendered, side of 7 bays has a central rusticated carriage-arch
with keystone. To the right is a doorway with panelled door and
rusticated ashlar splayed lintel flanked by single segmental
glazing bar casements with ashlar surrounds. To the left is a 1
1/2 storey, 3 bay, cottage, having red brick gables where
heightened. Central doorway, panelled door and rusticated and
painted splayed ashlar lintel. Flanked by single glazing bar
sashes with 2 small sashes above. The north, rendered, side has
4 single doorways with panelled doors and rusticated splayed
ashlar lintels, these alternate with 3 segmental glazing bar
casements with ashlar surrounds, the sills of which are level
with the door lintels.
