STANFORD-IN-THE-VALE HIGH STREET SU3493 (North side) 9/237 Dovecote approx. 20m. NW of Cox's Hall

GV II

Dovecote near Cox's Hall (q.v.). c.1739. Flemish bond with flared headers; stone slate roof, tile to rear. Flat brick arch over low doorway; dentilled eaves. Gabled roof. Interior: Projecting brick perches to recessed nesting holes in all walls, 3-bay collar-truss roof with side struts and butt purlins. Single storey mid C18 building in similar materials attached to right gable wall: C20 double doors with C18 strap hinges and one bay roof with collar truss adjacent to right wall of dovecote.
