House, Cl6 and C18. Flint with brick dressings, black glazed pantiles. T plan. Front range facing north of 7 irregular bays, 2 storeys and attic having 2 ridgelines, bays 3-5 mainly in brick forming a polygonal projection having polygonal roof; end internal stacks, that to right having a chimney bay of uncoursed flint; axial stack between bays 2 and 3; gable parapets; wide eaves with modillions; brick dentil cornice; recessed sashes with thick glazing bars, tall flat brick arches, stone sills. East gable has exposed tie beam at first floor level, small blocked window to right, blocked doorway with wooden lintel to left. Iron letters I B on each gable for John Burrell (1734-86), rector. Rear of bays 1 and 2 of front range of coursed flint, upper part and chimney bay uncoursed; bays 6 and 7 deeper with single-storey brick addition to rear for passage and steps to cellar. Central wing of 7 bays to rear, of 7 bays, 2 storeys, steep pitched hipped roof of black glazed pantiles, central axial stack; east facade: bays 1 to 3 with C20 inserted windows, bays 4 and 7 with black headers and Flemish bond, sashes with glazing bars (one renewed) blank windows to bays 4 and 6 first floor; large flat roofed porch to bay 6 having 2 fat Doric columns; door, reveals and architrave panelled. Mid C18 west facade of rear wing: second bay has coloured headers and shaped gable, tall semi-circular headed sash with glazing bars to stair; continuous single storey outshut to right having tall tapering cross stack (to bread oven); south return has large ground floor window with iron glazing bars, glass pane inscribed Alfred Cooper/Letheringsett/G. Neal/ Letheringsett. Interior. Roof over bays 4 to 7 of rear wing of 3½ bays, 2 tiers butt purlin with wind braces, collars, C16, some rafters renewed, roof line continues across front range. Front range roofs of staggered purlins. Hall to rear wing; raised and fielded panelled dado, stone floor, open string open-well staircase, turned balusters, ramped and wreathed handrail. Front range: room to west with classical leaf frieze, moulded window surrounds, C20 bay window to left of fireplace, C20 surround to C17 pine recess. Room to east with large fire recess asymmetrical to gable end, stopped bressumer above, niche to recess. C17 panelling to first floor room by central stack of rear wing. Bread oven and fireplace with C18 duck's nest grate to service room of rear outshut.
