GV II* (Incorrectly shown on OS map as Manor Farm). Manor house, C16, substantial C17 alterations, further later minor
alterations. Coursed and squared rubble, freestone dressings, triple Roman tile roof, coped verges with bases for
finials, one with an octagonal finial, one with an oblong sundial with a capping, 3 ashlar and a single large brick
stack, 2 on small projecting gables. Open hall house, later modified to a cross passage plan, further added wings. Two
storeys and attics, 1:1:1:1 bays, the first in a projecting wing under a front facing gable, second and fourth bays
with first floor windows under front facing gables. Two, 3 and 4-light ovolo moulded stone mullioned widows under
stopped labels; blank stone plaque in a moulded stone surround to extreme right gable face; 3-light mullioned window to
right to a basement, stopped label. Door opening to third bay from left in an eared and moulded stone architrave under
a label, C19 6-panelled door, top 2 panels glazed. Interior with a moulded cross beamed ceiling with rich ornamental
plasterwork; dog leg staircase with pierced pendants and caps to the newel posts. Many C17 2-panelled doors thoughout;
2 C17 fireplaces to first floor in dressed stone surrounds, one with a 4-centred head, one bolection moulded with a
cornice shelf. (VAG report, unpublished SRO, January 1984).
