Two houses. 1844-51. By PF Robinson, for the fourth Duke of Newcastle. Restored late C20. Coursed squared stone with partly rendered first floor, ashlar dressings and renewed palin tile roof. Two external side wall stacks, one with four coped round flues, rendered. Tudor style. Quoins. Windows are mainly casements, reglazed, with chamfered ashlar surrounds. Three storeys; 3 x 3 bays. Irregular facades and plan. West front has two main gables and a central gabled porch, two storeys, all with elaborate traceried bargeboards. Central Tudor arched board door, with a window above. Right gable has a canted bay window, three-lights, with a window above. Left side bay has an external stack, truncated. North side has a recessed centre between wings, all gabled and with bargeboards. In the centre, a three-light mullioned window. Above, a coved jetty with a two-light window and scanty timber framing. Wings have single two-light windows on each floor. South side has a recessed centre with a Tudor arched door and a window above it. To left, a wing with a canted bay window, four-lights, and a rendered timber-framed gable with a cross casement. To right, an altered square bay window, and above it, a canted bay window, five-lights, with pyramidal roof. This building is part of an early scheme by the 4th Duke of Newcastle to develop the Park Estate. Listing NGR: SK5674539641
