and stables to east GV II House with attached cottage and outbuildings. C17 and C18,
probably with earlier fabric and with C19 and C20 alterations.
Red brick, some stone. Plain tile roof with 2 gable stacks.
East front: early C19, symmetrical. 2½ storeys; 3 bays. Central
doorway with flat hood on brackets, 6-panel door with overlight
and cambered arch. To left and right, single glazing-bar sashes
with cambered arches. Above, 3 similar sashes with cambered
arches. Above again, 3 smaller sashes with cambered arches. All
windows have stone sills. Attached to left, a lower 2-storey
cottage of rendered brick with plain tile roof with tall ridge
stack. Off centre doorway with plank door and cambered arch with
to left, a 3-light sliding sash with cambered arch. Above, a 3-
light casement. Lead rainwater head on east gable end with
initials T.P. and arms of Thomas Planplin. Attached to left,
single-storey rendered brick range with half-hipped roof, large
stack, brick band and dentilled cornice. Single 3-light casement
with cambered arch. Attached to left again, a similarly treated
range, with doorway with 4-panel door and flat arch with to left,
a vehicle entrance with C20 double plank doors and cambered arch.
To right, a 2-light casement with flat arch. Above, a small
glazing-bar sash with cambered arch, with to right a loft doorway
with plank door. Attached to left, a low range of C18 and C19
brick stables.
INTERIOR: Much C18 and C19 joinery including several panelled
doors, and circa late C17 staircase with closed string, turned
balusters and moulded handrail, said to have been imported from
another house. Brick vault at rear.
