House. c.1610, with early and late C19 additions and
alterations. Ironstone with limestone ashlar bands and dressings
and steep pitched slate roofs. Coped gables, 3 restored coped
gable stacks. 2 storeys plus attics, 3 bays. West front has in
the return angle a hipped C19 porch with a Gothic panelled
studded door. To its right, a C19 canted bay window with 3
glazing bar sashes. Above, to left, a 2 light mullioned casement
and to right, a glazing bar sash. Beyond, to left, west gable
with 2 tall 2 light mullioned casements. Above, to left, a small
square light with chamfered surround. East side has to left a
round-headed C19 casement and to right, a 2 light mullioned
casement with hood mould. Above, a C20 casement and to its
right, a 2 light mullioned casement. Beyond, to right, a gabled
wing with a square chamfered garret casement to left. South side
has to left, a 4 light mullioned casement on each floor. To
right, beyond the south wing, a close-boarded door with hood, and
to its right, a C20 casement. Above, a 3 light mullioned
casement. Beyond, single storey C19 addition with a sliding sash
flanked by single plank doors, and above again, a C20 slate hung
gabled dormer. North side has an off-centre 5 light mullioned
casement, flanked by single 3 light mullioned casements, all with
flat hoods. Above, 3 two light mullioned casements. Above
again, a C19 gabled dormer with a casement.
