Barns and cowhouse. Late C17, C18, C19. Brick-nogged timber- framing, stone plinth, tiled roofs. 'T' plan; stem 5-bay barn with porch; cross piece 3-bay barn and 3-bay cowhouse. Five-bay barn, facade to house: right end partly hidden by cowhouse: framing 4 panels high, 2 parallel slit air vents in top 2 panels, small diamond in next below. Projecting gabled porch centre, double doorway to eaves, tie beam and collar truss, 'V' struts above. Framing right return 3 panels wide top half, 4 bottom. Lean-to looseboxes on left against barn not of special interest. Interior: stone-paved threshing floor, low brick wall with timber each side, curved struts to main posts, short brace to tie beam above: square cut base to jowl. Queen strut truss, with added angle struts, 2 pairs purlins, square ridge. Intermediate truss to right same, no lower bracing to left. Cowhouse on right, framing 3 panels high, plinth renewed in concrete: boarded door towards left, shuttered opening right: infill to 3 top panels replaced with wire mesh. Ceiling inserted at eaves level, brick walls to top second panels down sides mid C20. Second barn behind first, on right, half width projects beyond gable of first. Right-hand face, gable of first on left: small door in left return, double doorway to threshing floor on left: wall framing 3 panels high, eaves lower than first barn. In front, on right, semi-octagonal horse-engine house, timber-posts at corners on stone bases, straight braces to wallplate, curved to one tie beam. Sides originally open, partly boarded over mid C20; roof removed (an unusual survival in Gloucestershire). Internally stone paved threshing floor; on right low sill to half barn, vertical timber centre, straight brace to wallpost at back (removed at front); tie beam, collar and angle strut truss, 2 pairs purlins, plank ridge. Two bays to right partly floored over as grain store mid C20. Surrounding mid to late C20 framed buildings not of special interest. Forms group with farmhouse, Church and other farm buildings (q.v.).
