House, now a house, flat, and shop. C17 or earlier street range with roof reconstructed in late C17, early C18 brick front, C18 rear wing probably replacing an earlier service wing, early C19 parallel rear range in angle probably replacing a much smaller stair tower and with brick casing to N end of front range and 2-storeys infill of former gap at S end of front range, later C19 shopfronts for 3 shops on street front, 1911 Coronation Clock erected at SE corner, mid C20 interior alterations to present plan. Red brick chequered with blue on frontage, red brick rear wing, plum brick with red brick arches to S end, N end, and parallel rear range, steep old red tile hipped roofs, slated parallel rear range at lower pitch. 2-storeys and cellar L-plan house with later infill in angle, front facing E. 3 1st floor windows and small window on NE angle. Recessed sash windows with plastered reveals and 2/2 panes under corbelled dentilled eaves course. Pilastered continuous fascia shopfront with cornice recessed half glazed door to N half, separate doors and windows to South half. Later parallel rear range has on 1st floor 3 recessed sash windows under flat gauged arches with 8/8 panes and plastered reveals. Interior has exposed timbers in cross partition to front range and lower part of same partition said to have been of wattle and daub with wall painting noted during removal. 3-bays range with flint and brick walled cellar below larger S bay, and 2 rear-wall lateral chimneys originally. Butt-purlin roof with old flat rafters reversed and purlins staggered in-line, C18 rear wing a newer 2-cells internal chimney red brick block with squared exposed joists over rear ground floor room with trimming for stair in SW corner.
