Rectory GV II House, late C16, extended in C18. Timber framed, plastered, and red brick,
Flemish bond, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 3 bays aligned approx. N-S
with internal chimney stack in N bay, forming a lobby-entrance to W, now
blocked. External chimney stack to E of S bay, now enclosed in C18 parallel
range. Stair tower in NE angle. N extension to main range, late C18, with
pyramidal roof. 2 storeys with attics. W elevation, ground floor, one double-
hung sash window without glazing bars, one bay window with tiled, hipped roof,
one splayed bay window with flat roof, one late C19/early C20 casement window.
First floor, one double-hung sash window of 4 lights, 2 late C19/early C20
casement windows. In S elevation, 6-panel door in simple doorcase with shallow
hood on brackets, late C18. In S ground floor room, axial beam plain-chamfered
with step stops, joists plastered to soffits. Recessed semi-circular cupboard
in E wall to N of stack, C18. In next room to N, axial beam plain-chamfered,
exposed joists of horizontal section, contemporary wood-burning hearth reduced
for coal fire. Clasped purlin roof.
