Farmhouse. Early C17 with C19 and C20 alterations. Limestone rubble, double
Roman tiled roof with raised coped verges, stone and brick ridge and gable stacks
(ridge stack to right of passage). Through passage 2-room plan, L-plan formed
by wing to front right. 2 storeys and 2 windows, 3-light casements with
chamfered wooden mullions at first floor and ground floor right, small 2-pane
light at ground floor left, off-centre plain door in chamfered frame with C20
gabled porch on rough wooden piers; 2-storey wing has two 2-light C20 casements
at ground floor; attached to front left a single storey outhouse with 2 blocked
openings to front, contemporary with farmhouse; gable end front of wing has
2-light casement at first floor and stack. Left return has 2 lines of roof-
raising in gable end, small lean-to; rear of outhouse has door and 2-light
casement with segmental brick head. Right return of wing has lean-to with roof
extending nearly to ground level, no windows; gable end of main range has wide
external stack, weathered, on 4 corbels, beneath the stack a 3-light casement
with ovolo mullions, in poor condition at time of survey (March 1985); rear
wing, lower, has two 2-light casements of 8 panes each with brick segmental head,
lean-to with door. Rear has 1/2 glazed door to right, heavy door to rear of
passage with strap hinges, chamfered frame and timber lintel, 2 small 2-light
windows to left with chamfered frames and mullions and iron stanchions, single
light in brick surround and two 6-pane lights under eaves; glazed porch in angle
with rear wing; rear wing of mid-C19, 2 storeys, ground floor of inner side has
two 2-light casements and former central door, now with C20 window with glazing
bars inserted, all openings with brick segmental heads, 2 C20 multi-pane windows
under eaves, door with brick segmental head to right in porch and small single
light; gable end of rear wing has external stair to upper door. Interior: not
