HUNSTRETE
Hunstrete House, flank wall and east wing (Formerly listed as Hunstrete House, flank wall and west wing, previously listed as Hunstete House) 1.2.54 G.V.
II House, flanking wall and east wing. Ashlar, rubble, slate hipped roofs. U-plan. Entrance front has two storeys, seven windows all sashes, the much taller ground floor ones are cut through the cill band, off-centre right is a reset mid-C18 doorcase, curved pediment with coat of arms and swags, pilasters, moulded round arch, above is a plat band and plain parapet; at left garden elevation has two storeys, nine windows, sashes, first three are as main front then parapet sweeps down (for a while there are two plat bands), ground floor has cill band. A circa 2m. high rubble wall connects main block to hipped east wing, adjacent main elevation this has two storeys, two windows, sashes on cill band below, six-pane sashes above, plat band, parapet, return elevation has six windows now altered to paired sashes. Within courtyard made by C20 low wing, main block shows large stairhead tri-partite window, remainder much altered. Listing NGR: ST6475461885
