FORRABURY AND MOUNT PLEASANT, Boscastle SX 19 SW MINSTER 2/110 The Cottage including railings to front II House and cottage converted to one house with railings to front. Circa late C18 with cottage added in circa early C19. Slate stone rubble. Slate roof with gable ends. Projecting stone rubble stacks on gable ends with brick shafts and brick axial stack to left of centre. House to right has 2 room plan with central entrance to wide cross passage containing an imperial stair at the back. The 2 rooms are heated by axial stack on left and gable end stack on right. Cottage of 1 room plan added on left hand gable end heated by gable end stack; the entrance leads directly into the ground floor room. 2 storeys. Regular 3 window front. Ground floor with C19 2-light casement on left, C19 6-panel door and two 12-pane sashes flanking entrance to house on right with C19 6-panel door and C20 part glazed porch. First floor has C19 2-light casement in cottage to left and three 12-pane sashes above ground floor openings on right. Interior : wide passage with imperial stair to rear and 4 panel doors with raised and fielded panels into right hand and central rooms. Right hand room has a circa late C18 timber chimney-piece with dentilled cornice and fluted pilasters. Room lit by canted bay window. Central room has a circa late C18 chimney-piece and china cupboard adjoining, the 3 glazed doors with honeycomb glazing bars. Left hand room has C19 timber chimney-piece with corbelled brackets and a slate flag floor. Cast iron railings enclose garden to front.
