ST COLUMB MAJOR BROAD STREET (south side), SW 9063-9163 St Columb Major 17/210 No 3 - GV II

House and shop. Late C18 - early C19, with alterations of C19 and C20. Rendered stone rubble. Slurried slate hipped roof. Stacks with brick shafts to rear. Plan: Possibly originally a pair of attached houses, the doors probably originally at the outer sides; the windows are arranged in pairs to right and left at upper storeys. Double depth, with a rear wing to left. The C20 shop is inserted at ground floor through the full depth and width of the house, with an entrance to the upper storeys to right. Exterior: 3 storeys and 4 windows; the front is slightly bowed along the curve of the street, a nearly symmetrical front with modillion cornice. Ground floor has C20 plate-glass shop front with mullions and central door. Plank door to right. Continuous fascia. First floor has windows arranged with two to right and two to left, all 16-pane sashes in exposed boxes of early C19, except one later C19 4-pane sash to left. Second floor has four 12-pane sashes of early C19. Interior: Not inspected.
